Annual Dahlia Sale

If you don’t grow dahlias, you need to - they are the most impressive, fanciful, colorful flowers out there, and we love them!
We grow over 500 dahlias every year, with 50+ different varieties.

Because dahlias multiply every year, we wind up with more dahlias than we need to save for the following season. We sell these in two ways - clumps (an entire clump of dahlia tubers) or individual tubers. Our clumps are the best deal - and our laziness is your gain! You are responsible for dividing the clumps into tubers (if that’s what you’re going to do) and storing them over winter. We also sell some individual tubers in the fall, and then all of our extra tubers in the spring become available.

All fall orders must be picked up on the farm on one of the two dates provided (November 7 or 8). If you cannot pickup on one of those dates, please do not order. Any dahlias not picked up will be refunded, less a 20% restocking fee. Please read the FAQs carefully!

Any leftover clumps will go into our in-person sale on November 3.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A dahlia tuber is an individual part of the dahlias root system that, when planted, will grow into an entirely new plant identical to the original plant.

    A dahlia clump is the entire root system of the dahlia plant, made up of individual tubers.

  • That really depends on the plant - some are fabulous tuber producers (Blizzard), and some are terrible tuber producers (Kelgai Ann). Typically, you can plan on between 2 and 6 tubers in a clump.

  • Probably not. For initial orders, dahlias must be picked up on the farm. I hate figuring out shipping, but if I have a ton of extra tubers to sell, I might reconsider later in the season.

  • PLEASE DO NOT ORDER if you can’t pick up on farm on November 7 or 8. If an emergency comes up after you order, please message me to arrange an alternative plan or discuss a refund.

  • Listen, I’m selling clumps because I don’t want to divide and store them. If you order a clump and then backout, I lose the sale AND have to divide and store these dahlias. PLEASE don’t order if you can’t pickup on farm.

  • When dividing dahlias, you need to make sure each tuber you split off has an eye, a crown, and an intact neck. There are lots of great tutorials on how to divide.

    I store my dahlias in coarse vermiculite in plastic shoeboxes in my basement, and monitor them for condensation.
